About CATPW
Centre d'Action Touristique des Provinces Wallonnes (CATPW)
The CATPW is an association created in 1984 by the tourism federations of the provinces of Liège, Namur, Luxemburg, Hainaut and Walloon Brabant in order to join their knowledge and financial means and ameliorate and harmonize their marketing efforts.
The CATPW also offers the five provincial tourism federations the chance to reflect on the way tourism is structured and regulated in Wallonia, to collaborate closely with the Walloon research institute in the field of tourism (Observatoir du Tourisme Wallon) and to develop the tourist offer by means of GPS.
In 2005 the CATPW acquired a new promotional stand integrating the five provincial tourism federations, the Office de Promotion du Tourisme Wallonie-Bruxelles (OPT), the 42 regional tourist information offices (Maisons du Tourisme) and several associations representing specific fields in the tourism industry. Together the boots form a Walloon village at travel markets in Belgium and in neighbouring countries.
Our goals are to add value to the domestic tourism industry and to promote the accommodation, the gastronomy and the natural and cultural wealth of a region that abounds with tourist features.
The board of directors has 22 members (4 per province and 2 representatives of the APW). Mrs Annick BEKAVAC holds the chairmanship, Mr Jean-Luc HENRY the accounts department and Mr Jean-Michel MAES the office of secretary.
